Eternal Flame
Mid America Cancer Center
Naval brass, 23' x 8' x 3'
Designed for the three-story atrium of the
Mid America Cancer Center, the sculpture incorporates
multiple viewpoints from the interior and
exterior of the building. The ceramic tile
and oak foundation matches architectural details
in the building interior, providing seating
for visitors.
How
does an artist create a 22-foot tall sculpture?
"There is a certain scale that is appropriate
for each project. I like to work in the range
of 20-25 feet because at that point, you are
working in an area that people have an emotional
response."
-Russ RuBert
"The Eternal Flame creates an ambience
of hope, inspiration, and a commitment to
excellence."
-Greg Fecteau Director
